Hate to be so old school about this but how can one ignore Gloria Swanson in SUNSET BLVD or Barbara Stanwyk in DOUBLE INDEMNITY or Bette in ALL ABOUT EVE or Garbo in QUEEN CHRISTIANA or CAMILLE or Lillian Gish in THE WIND.
